Toecutter, I am thinking the slide has been refinished. The stamps look soft and a there are polish marks. The sheen of finish from the frame and slide look different. Could be a result of lighting. All IMHO and may stand corrected. Nice earlier example. Thank you for posting.

John sorry for the crappy pics,the light glare is really bad.If you look at the 10th pic down you can see where the last 2 proofs are stamped after the pistol was factory blued,so not a refinish IMO .The sheen on the slide is more polished than the frame which is normal on these 41s
