May be a mistake, may be not. I think a long overdue acknowledgement in Russia of the influence of the Mp44 on the AK47.

I noticed that the formal Honour Guard at the unveiling ceremony were carrying the SKS rifle rather than an AK variant of some type which would have been more appropriate for the occasion!
