C.A.I. import marked Beretta 91/28 carbine. It was $50. Only reason I bought it was because it is a Beretta. Rich A. in Pa.

Lucky you. Can't find these anymore for that price.
Is it all matching? I have an import marked frankencarcano that is a mismatch of parts from different model carcano rifles. I have read that this was done post war from leftover parts

The stock marks are very poor and I can not read them. I doubt it is the original stock. This is import marked at the front of the barrel. Rich A. in Pa.

You have a Moschetto Truppe Speciali (short rifle for special troops). Not really common, it was issued to engineers, Alpini, NCO's, artillery and Navy. It has been produced 'till the 1938 (Beretta production is exclusively interwars), when this model was replaced by the 91/38 T.S.
