Default Importing Ukrainian Deact to UK for re-deactivation to UK/EU spec

    Hi Folks,

Normally I wouldn't touch this with a barge pole but I have the chance to get my hands on an SVT-38 here in Ukraine where I'm living for a few months. (When did one of those last appear in the UK for sale?!)

Being Ukr spec it would be considered Section 5 until re-deactivation in the UK to EU standard.

Can anyone recommend a company with the competence/authority to courier the gun from Ukraine to the UK? Export/import paperwork looks do-able, just struggling with finding a courier.

    Grateful for constructive advice...

I would get in touch with people who are in the business to be honest.

    Maybe try here,

    Hope this helps.

D&B Militaria and WorldWideArms do deactivation.
you can just send them an email and ask them directly

    Thanks for the responses!

All the Companies named above are happy to re-deactivate (and provide import paperwork in the case of D&B) but it seems none can physically import the gun or even recommend an international carrier.

I was a bit surprised to be honest. Especially with WWA, someone's importing their Section 5 stock.

In desperation, I thought i might just import the non-controlled parts of the gun, stock, gas port cover etc. The basic mechanism is near identical to an SVT-40 which I could cannibalise. It would be unforgivable though.

    Hi Boycie,

    I found this website

How to Import Guns to UK | Import & Courier Firearms

And they recommend London Gun Co (link below), who apparently can do every thing for you. So it might be worth contacting them,
