    Funny I just got the bug with this type of rifle and won one on gun broker. Not near as nice as your grouping, comes with nothing extra but I only paid 140 for it. Mum is ground. Seems yours was a field capture?

    I have been told of all the WW2 rifles the 99 had the strongest reciever of all during testing. They could never make it fail.

    That's cause the 99 was based on the mauser 98's action

    interesting that it still has the "mum" chrysanthemum on it,

    i thought they were to be ground off.
