Love it! I feel sometimes like I'm the only carcano fan left. Glad to see I was wrong.
Here you have it-
1.590,000 of your rifles were produced by Brescia between 1898 and 1919
2. 17.91 inch barrel
3. 6.5x52mm round with a muzzle velocity of 660m/sec
4. Recoil velocity 2.42 m/sec
5. Max range 3k meters
6. Average barrel life 4000 rounds.
Very nice find.
Nice one Rich. That is one short rifle!

Far from it, there are plenty of us out there! I just received a new (to me) M.1938 Cavalry Carbine this morning with presumably German added serial numbers and a blued bolt.
Nice T.S., rra227. These continued to be produced in their final, Model 1938 form up until probably 1944, if surviving serial number data is any indication.

Thanks guys. That is why I go to the flea market weather permitting. Bore is ok. I do not care. I am happy to have one.
Post pics of your new carbine. Button or Latch on the bayonet? Rich A. in Pa.

I also have one but have never found a bayonet for it, nice find.
Hope you find one and post a pic if you can. I will buy any bayonet I see at a reasonable value. Rich A. in Pa.
