Default M1 carbine bought in the 60s DMC

This is one of those you could buy in the 60s for about 30.00 from the DMC.Its in about mint cond, all Inland parts that I can see,has been upgraded to the adjustable rear sight and bayo lug at Mount Rainier as it has the MR stamp on stock.I think the finish is original park but not sure.Would have been nice to have received this for 30.00 back then but I was only 9 years old in 1964!Anyway got it at a very good price.

Yes I remember those days! I have a 1945 IBM M-1 Carbine I bought in the early 70s at Woolworths for I believe $70.00 It is import marked and I think it came from Korea so isn't in pristine condition but shoots pretty well.

To much crap talked about the carbine, it was a good weapon!....

I agree! Unfortunately I had to bring this carbine to a house I own in Vermont because here in the good old People's Republic of New York under out "SAFE" Act with a bayonet lug it's considered an Assault Weapon and needs to be registered, which is something I refuse to do.

Why don't you just take the bayonet lug off

I think you would have to remove the front sight assembly to do it,or cut the banonet lug off, wouldnt be easy, anyway sounds like its got a good home away from home!
