Mauser1908 signed GECO Brazil export

I woiuld say a regular Brazilian rifle that was imported to Germany, post war, by GECO and marked as such. The Star of David might be a Brazilian arsenal mark. I have no idea. It is absolutely not a war time used rifle, by Germany.
Nice rifle by the way.
Cheers,
Emile

I found this on one page:
This is German Retailer “Geco” marked which stands for the famous firm of Genshow & Co, who were along with Akah, the two largest firearms dealers in Germany at the time. were instead sent to Germany to alleviate the shortage of firearms needed to arm Nazi non-military personnel, especially those working in the occupied territories. If you were a Nazi official or businessman you were a target of the resistance and would potentially be a target for murder and because of this these pistols were needed for self defense. This is a great pistol for any Axis collector.

Dear luft,
Your quote concerns pistols. I fail to see the connection to this rifle.

Do you have any thread that GECO transported weapons back to Germany after the war?
-
I have no documentation proving my theory. Have a look at back issues of the magazine DWJ. You will find info there.
The fact that the markings (rather recent, still shiny metal) regarding GECO and the caliber are of a later date in comparison to the factory marks, I concluded post war import.

I have a similar Model, but a M1894 produced by FN Herstal. The Star of David is probably a Brazilian Stamp, as there is a similar Star on the Crest.
I still wonder how and especially why these rifles came back to germany from Brazil...
Crest of the first Brazilian Republic.
Edit: How could i miss the crest has only 5 spikes... the Israeli explanation makes way more sense.

Star of David on Mauser
This thread suggests that Spanish, Chilean and Brazilian Mauser rifles ended up in Israel, hence the star of David.
-
Hello, I don't think the Star of David will have anything to do with Israel, because I looked on the Internet and these weapons are sold a lot in America, without the geco brand and with the Star of David, and it seems strange to me that so many weapons will come after the war. from America to Israel and then back, I think this weapon was manufactured until 1934/35 and then Brazil ordered more modern models and DWM produced a little more of these weapons and so they sold it to GECO, which then sold it to civilians and Germans from occupied territories for self-defense
What do you think of my theory?
[Sorry for google translator]
Regards Luft.

I doubt that very much. This rifle has a German proofmark (deer antler) as used since 1952.
Summary: Brazilian Mauser 1908, imported post war by GECO for sale in Germany. Possibly demilled by GECO.
Cheers,
Emile
