Hi Guys
Does anyone recognise this proof mark? I think it is British for the period of Edward VIII in the early to mid Thirties, does anyone recognise it?
Thanks

Having done some digging around online, this appears to be an Enfield Royal Arms Factory inspection/acceptance stamp. The 'E' meaning Enfield and the numbers underneath '76' or '7G' being the inspector who made the stamp.
Here's the link I found: Enfield No. 2 Mk 1 Proof Mark Help | Gunboards Forums (see the bottom right image in the first post and compare to the image in my post above copied here)
Can anyone verify this?
Definitely an Enfield stamp. My Enfield-made SMLE is covered with these.
B.B.
Thanks for confirming
