Not the usual thing that I’d purchase, but it was a good price and with some other bits so I thought I get it with a view of mounting it on wood.
It didn’t have any history with it but has clearly been ground dug. Interestingly it is still cocked.

An interesting relic. To bad about no history on it.
Would have been nice to know where it was dug up at.
Since it is Locked and Cocked, Is it loaded???

Good question Phil
Could you see in the mag well if it is chambered ..... or does the bolt fully obscure it?

I would strongly suspect that there is a bullet in there, I see no other reason why it would be cocked, however I can see just about enough (through the corrosion) that makes me satisfied that any primer or cordite is now inert or non-existent. It had clearly been out of the ground for quite a while when I got it due to its condition. The pictures here show it with a light covering of WD-40.
I’ve made a trench sign to mount the gun on. Just need to find a space on the wall now.
