Very nice Garandy. Checked my book Backbone and I see Mauser Oberndorf used the S/42G code in 1935 for model 98 rifles. Looks like yours was produced by Mauser Oberndorf for Spain. Said 1935 the year the K98k was formally adopted. Looks like walnut stock. Thanks for sharing with us.
Sights were used probably from a Kar98k delivered to Spain as help in SCW, similar rifles were refurbishment in war period made in Spain from various rifles, german, czechoslovak and polish delivered in SCW. The front of sight looks like from polish or german Kar98AZ, the side lower ring as from czechoslovak Vz24.
Thanks is it of any collectibles value?
I would certainly think so this day and age concerning milsurps. Be nice to know how many were supplied to Spain. Nice having a 1935 example in my opinion.
Similar missmatches or refurbishment are certainly lower value as normal german K98k made by Mauser in 1935, i believe it was called Spanish Airforce M1944 similar rifles.
