Article about: Hello guys, Two new rifles today. Both 1898 Krags. Both have been sporterized I can get both for \\$250, is it worth it to try to make them correct or a lost cause? Sorry kind of a open ended

    Two new rifles today. Both 1898 Krags. Both have been sporterized

    I can get both for $250, is it worth it to try to make them correct or a lost cause? Sorry kind of a open ended question.

    Personally think a restoration will be very difficult and cost prohibitive. I have a 1898 carbine for many years. The Krag-Jorgensen has one of the smoothest actions ever made. The Swiss Karabiner Model 1931 straight pull is a bit slicker, but for a turn bolt action the Krag is smooooth.

    Thanks John, for the feedback. Bolt is real nice. As you said k31 is still a bit slicker. Figured I would ask if they worth it. I think I may pass.
