    Great pistols, looks to be a nice example. I would recommend not shooting a matching WW 2 P38, too many non matching or modern ones to shoot instead. It is not uncommon for the slides to crack with modern ammo, especially with weak original recoil springs. The way the slide was made on WW 2 versions makes them prone to this type of failure. The post war P1 versions have a more robust slide design to address this. Check out th P38 forum for info on this and some pics of cracked slides.
