these go well displayed with my Chinese surplus SKS rifle , ammo pouch, water bottle , dummy stick grenades , I have a plain one and one with a painted red star on the front
Ive seen photos of this helmet used in places like Africa , Middle East , pretty much any country that gets military supplies from China.
“G(Gāng钢)”means “steel”, and “K(Kūi盔)means “helmet.” These helmets are considerably cheap in China, especially in used conditions, which would take about $6 or $7 for one. You may spend $30 to $50 for an unissued helmet, but they are easy to find.

Here is my GK80-A, one of my first helmet I got about 5 years ago,
let's have a closer look together. Enjoy.
Now that we did an overview of the helmet let's see more details.
The older 2 point-chinstrap received with the helmet
& the new 4 point-chinstrap received a few days ago.
The liner, a copy of the Riddell system can easily be removed,
held to the shell with 6 metallic clips. Interior view.
Top view of removed liner.
Empty shell.
The headband is attached to the cradle & cannot be removed by itself.
Note the thickness of the foam padding.
The foam is thicker where aligned for the liner's clips except for the back.
The headband can be adjusted.
No leather for comfort, but some kind of laminated vinyl.
Time to put the liner back in, example of clips.
Insert clip.
Turn & slide the clip up, bend the tip to secure.
This cover is known but not often seen with the flaps out.
About the characters on the helmet:
吴浩本 Wú, Hàobēn. Possibly the name of the soldier who wore this helmet
TXL20, possibly the abbreviation of “Tōng Xùn Lián”, i.e. The radio communication company. 20 may refer to the number of the unit, i.e. The 20th radio communication company.
these used surplus camo painted China GK80 steel helmets on Ebay have a nice field used look , these have a lot of character with honest wear and would look good on display.
