If I rub that helmet with a cloth with acetone, firstly little spots of the red paint vanish. So I have to continue with rubbing. But when I do that, I rub away the original colour in those little spots.
I think I'll just leave it red.

thats odd when i used it on my lid it dident touch the original paint did you try paint stripper its not as aggressive as acetone & more controllable ??

No I don't have such a paint stripper.... shall I use naid polish remover? Or is it as agressive as acetone?
