Thanks James, I must admit that I have a soft spot for those Nordic helmet covers. Not easy to find, very happy with this latest addition.

Default Soviet Afghan war helmet covers improvisation.

Very few helmet covers were available for Soviet troops when they invaded Afghanistan in 1979.

In order to conceal their helmets they had to improvise,
one way was to use small parts of larger camouflage net.

    Hello everyone,

Here are some photos of the Colombian M1 with the "Tigrillo" Helmet Cover. Used in Colombia since 1967. The camo is incredibly related to the American "Frogskin" Camo. It is attached to the shell of the helmet via a drawstring.

The photos appear to show a Colombian Soldier fitted with the camo and a Colombian Artillery Squad outfitted with the camo as well.

Material not colour looks similar to the Australian type of M1 net that catches on everything!

Hi Twarde, nice cover. Central & South America's covers are great (often colourful). Those covers are not easy to find. The liner's seems to be a WW 2 CAPAC one, refurbished with (local?) headband. The shell with its replaced (local?) chinstrap is also interesting as well with some names carved in. Very nice combination!
