    Hello.

I am new to the forum & apologise if I have posted in the wrong area. However, I wondered if anyone could identify this helmet that I got from a work colleague of mine ? I have not posted this under a particular country as I have no clue to its origin & neither did he.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thank you !

I t is a Czech M53 helmet, copy of the Soviet Sh39. This one is an early example. Good quality and was widely exported to "brother nations" in the cold war era.

    Cheers,
    Emile

Ive seen several of these used by the North Vietnamese Army, the Czechs must have been a major helmet supplier during the Vietnam war.

lots of war souvineers helmets brought back from VN are this model 53 helmet made by the Czechs.

I have this same type of helmet with a NVA badge on the front
