The M80 IS a Helmet...it just LOOKS like a liner. It is unusual to see one used as a liner. If that’s as they came, you have a nice pairing there. The netting is interesting....usually the BW-style netting is thinner and darker .....
Found on the battlefield: in the desert between Kuweit ad Iraq.
It's sad really...there's a lot of Iraqi lids which are now changing hands and in doing so are losing their "story"....I always ask sellers for the history behind the helmet when buying....I know that the "used by Martyrs and found by SAS" ones aren't true but if I can collect anything about where they were picked up or by whom I think it's useful to keep that "on record"...it's kinda our responsibility.
Nice lid.
I agree.
I was there in 1992 and I picked up those two helmets not far away from Kuweit City at a place where a French company was removing explosive material such as grenades, landmines, artillery shells, ... Human remains were found too.
