Default "Last Ditch" Austrian Bundesheer "M-75" -Helmet

Hi, mates, here in the forum we have already had many threads regarding the two-piece, (dem "Zweiteiligen"), steel helmet M-58 and M-75 of the ÖBH / ( Österreichisches Bundesheer ) .

    Some examples:
    M-75 Bundesheer United Nations
    Austrian M75
    Austrian (Bundesheer ) M-58

For the amount of EUR 30,-- (including shipping) I was able to purchase this heavily worn helmet.

Referring to the book by Olivier C. Dorell:
    "THE
    AUSTRIAN M1
    STEEL HELMET
    "
my helmet is a steel helmet used in the ÖBH with a "6th pattern" liner.

The eyelets of the liner and the brass rivet of the liner chin strap were heavily soiled with verdigris, which I was able to clean gently.

The closure of the chin strap is stamped with the letters OLC, which stands for the manufacturer "Overhoff & Companie, Lüdenscheid".

Inside the shell of the helmet the following is stamped in yellow colour
the logo of the company ULBRICHT´S WITWE, SCHWANENSTADT, and next to it: SCH-85

Here´re some images of the shell:

One of the "tongues" (lobes) of the liner are marked with AJ 90:

The former wearer of the helmet has "immortalized" himself in the leather of the liner with a ballpoint pen...

    Name and rank:
    Kpl (Corporal) Kitzmüller

Another inscription (barely legible) can be seen in the liner of the helmet:
    ... 457 ???
Possibly the soldier's dog tag number?

    On the soldier's unit:

The wearer of the helmet could have been a member of the 1/14th / 1. Panzerkompanie Panzerbataillon 14 (the 1st Panzer Company of the 14th Panzer Battalion) "HESSEN 14".

Here are some nice photos showing the helmet camouflage net and its use.

    Interesting:
One of the soldiers has the patch of a member of the Grenzschutz / border guard sewn onto the sleeve of his camouflage jacket in the "Erbsentarn" camouflage scheme (aka "Fleckerteppich"), in other words, a fairly early photograph.

Btw, my father, born in 1940, was still a member of the Grenzschutz.
