    Default M1 Canadian Helmet Question

    Hi Everyone,
I am new to the site. I have been researching M1 helmets and still do not know what I really have. The helmet was sold as an unissued Canadian fixed bale M1 helmet. It was not issued because of the mismatched liner suspension system. It has Michael Mayer. Wm stamped inside with something written over it, Trusi written in Ink, and the numbers 56-58 stamped inside. The shell itself has no lot numbers. It looks legitimate but it may be a really good reproduction. I have not seen one like it in my research and would be grateful for any input.
    Thank you in advance.

    Susiedoody,

I've moved your thread to the correct section of the forum. It will not get the views needed in the New Member intro section and you already had a separate Intro thread

I've also added the photos and changed your thread title

The liner is a Austrian Bundesrepublik 9 tab variant, M75, most likely the entire helmet is Austrian but from the pictures it is hard to tell.

definitely not a Canadian issued M1 steel helmet.
    liner is totally wrong.
there were fixed bale Canadian helmets, but they were rare to find.
most were turned back into unit stores for disposal.
    I hope this helps you.
