Nicely refurbrished postwar Bulgarian M36A do exist

Hello,

As we know, most of the Bulgarian postwar M36A are very ugly.

But sometimes there are exceptions.

Like this one.















Not seen service, probably got stolen after refurbishment and kept well until I got my hands on in 10 years ago.

According to Ted Muhovski, a Bulgarian collector who isn't active these days, large numbers of M36 of all types were refubished with new paint and liners, and most were kept in storage for decades, although some were used along with M51 and M71 in the Bulgarian military. Large amounts of them were sold off as surplus about fifteen years ago (or even earlier, I think).

You have a very nice example of a refurbished M36.
Could you post a photo of the liner's metallic frame from under the leather cradle?
I'm curious to see the model of the metallic frame & how it is attached to the shell.
Is there stamping under the leather cradle?

That looks so fine











Frame is unusual and prefabricated with blind openings.

It looks it was cleaned with sand blasting and then painted with some sand still in it.

Thanks Alex, it looks like a M72 liner with the "T" connectors removed, it's metallic headband attached with the M36's original or similar rivets. I have an older M51/72 it's dark green paint is also lightly textured. Thanks for the extra photos.
