At first point it's MK II with US insignia, but I'am not sure.

No markings. What you see is all I got. I got it in a car boot sale in Dun Laoghaire outside Dublin. I'm not a collector but it seemed a shame to let something that might have a genuine history dissappear.

The paint is very green and thick (whats left of it).

If it's worth the postage I'd rather pass it to someone who knows what they have.

Hi Sylas, now you have told me that, I am certain that the insignia will be from the Irish Army. I have done a quick search, but I have not come up with which unit it is from. Leave it with me. I will ask a friend of mine from Ireland who will know.

The helmet shell will be a British MkII. The stampings to the steel may well be covered in paint and hard to find. Don't be tempted to search for them by scraping off any paint. It is not vital.
