The badge is for a civil fire brigade. Not sure of the actual time period,
but it might even be post-war. It's complete but $195 plus postage
is rather alot, IMO.........

If I were you I would look at the prices these go for on ebay. Japanese sellers don't charge anywhere near that. A fair price would be roughly half what they are asking. Such helmets are in abundant supply.

I would agree with that, it is in superb condition, but unless you really need that badge to fill a hole in your collection, it is overpriced. These are the type of helmet you can get off e-bay cheaply and they are common enough for nobody to mess with.
