    I wish I had more to tell. As best I can determine, it is an original portrait in period frame. The name of the young Luftwaffe NCO is unknown to me. The artist signed it but I searched and found very little. Interestingly I found an artist who lived in Belgium during the right period with a very similar name but it was off by one letter. Jos Pauwels was a fairly famous Belgian artist (1918-1976) but my portrait is signed Jos Pauels.
