A lucky escape indeed! Perhaps it's time to buy a lottery ticket?
Wishing you a speedy recovery.

Stig,
I wish you the very best and a speedy recovery.. I can tell you from personal experience that I know what you are going through with the anxiety and pain.. In 2008 as a firefighter, I broke my neck in two places in the line of duty, my cervical vertebrae C4 and C7.. I was very very lucky that I did not suffer permanent paralysis. Although the injury ended my career as a firefighter/medic, I am still very Blessed and fortunate to be able to walk and have a normal life..
I wish you the very best and a speedy recovery..

Take care, Smitty and thanx alot for the kind words!

It could have been a hell of a lot worse if the Yaris wasn't such a tough little car, my friend rolled one and it barely damaged the roof. Get well soon.
Take care and get well soon!
Cheers, Ade.

Take the advice of all the medical team Stig, believe me, recovery will take time..
Rest and recuperate my friend, don't rush it.
I was knocked down by a car in 1986 and fractured my skull.. took them nearly two years to put me back together again.
My friends would say there still some parts missing..
