    at this date there was no officers cap badge and the silver plate collar badge was used on the side cap

    That’s a pretty cool cap!

    For some reason it interested me to check and it is nice that the company is still on the go!

    caps from the period prior to the great war are not common, and this pattern to still have its chinstrap is uncommon, also it has no mothing, a wonderful survivor from over 110 years ago

    I actually hadn’t noticed the chinstrap. Nice to learn something today! Will you put this on display or keep it sealed to protect it then if it’s in such nice condition?

    it is sealed in a zippy bag but is visible on a shelf in my study
