I can't add anything to the question raised, though it is nicely photographed and you should be able to find a period scabbard for it reasonably easily.

Thanks for the comments. I am after a period scabbard now. I have looked through the First World War battalions but am not sure as yet which one it would be, although it could be an inter- war marking.
