    Default AEF/WW1 Officer’s promotion 1917’s

I’ve had my eye on both of these helmets for a year and I finally was able to get them into my price range.
Both of the helmets are unnamed but I’m researching them. I believe it’s possible but a long process a head to put a name to them.

The Colonel helmet has the least wear and has a smaller 5th Corps insignia painted on one side. The liner has broken loose from the helmet and the chinstrap is missing. I don’t think he had the Colonel helmet for long before he was promoted.

The Brigadier General’s helmet has the 5th Corps insignia painted on the side and is slightly bigger. The liner is intact, the chinstrap is broken but present.

The helmets came out of a private collection of an older gentleman and he had them for many years and can’t remember the history. He sold them to dealer friend and I was able to add them to collection and now the research begins and hopefully a name can be put back to the helmets.

If anyone has any leads to the 5th Corps during WW1 please let me know. I have a message in with V Corps and I’m hoping they can help with a promotions list.

    Enjoy,
    Marty

Two great helmets Marty. I don't ever think I've seen an example with a full bird or a generals star! I can see why you wanted them.
"Please", Thank You" and proper manners appreciated

My greatest fear is that one day I will die and my wife will sell my guns for what I told her I paid for them
