Any chance of identifying the soldier here?

Article about: I'd love to know who this soldier was, just for personal reasons. I can provide more photos if need be.

OK. First is that who's ever this was belonged to the 30th (Old Hickory) division.

The number is his service number 1326016 (or is it an 8)

The issue is that most WW1 service records were destroyed in a fire decades ago. So you probably won't find any information on the NARA database.

NARA does however give you a link to Ancestry.com and FamilySearch.org. I couldn't figure out how to search for serial number.

I did type the serial number into Ancestry and got 2 hits. That said, it wasn't actually a serial number search. I just typed the number in

    1326016 - U.S., World War I Draft Registration Cards, 1917-1918 - Ancestry.com

Not being a member of Ancestry, I then looked up these two people on FamilySearch.org (it's free but you have to sign up). Here are their draft cards. Unfortunately I have no idea if they are linked to this serial number...

My greatest fear is that one day I will die and my wife will sell my guns for what I told her I paid for them

It's 8, but thanks for the research. Would be interesting to find ancestry detail on him.

In that case I found 2 more

John Thomas Woods (Erie County NY)

James Edward Bozeman (Almeda County California)

(same county and state as the first two...logical. they were probably 2 back in the draft line....LoL)

Still I don't think it is pulling up the serial numbers. Maybe someone else can help with the search.
