    yes,that is where hero's end!
Strange; people do not give any intrest to the history of theyre family.
Thise lot was sold separately at 10 euro cent a piece, and it seemed to me; to be the (not that young anymore) relatives of the original owner.
But no questions asked! I got there in time and managed to keep the lot safe.
I think it must have belonged to a women who volunteerd at the red cross and worked in a hospital in France.
    So here is ;
    -the order of the crown
    -the King Albert's medal
-the well known WWI victory medal
    and
    - the war commemorative medal (with a crown on the ribbon, given to the voulonteers!)
All came separatly, for the miniatures they charged 2 €!!

Thise was the main group, but theyre still was a small (broken) model (women's medal) pre 1951 military medal of a" order of Leopold I " that I got for free for buying the lot!!!belgian medal group found on a flea marketbelgian medal group found on a flea marketbelgian medal group found on a flea marketbelgian medal group found on a flea marketbelgian medal group found on a flea market

And a local French medal with a red cross on the ribbon.

Wow, very nice find, it is indeed too bad that people are not more interested in family members history, good thing you find it.

    Thanks Steve!
Just found a other very special miniature groupe.
Not on the flea market thise time, unfortunaly....thise one was on eBay and didn't came cheap.
But it is loaded with so much history, i couldn't ressist it.
Thise owner must have participated with the 3rd Brigade of the Force Publique to the campaign in Abyssinia, where we(Belgians) won one of our greatest military battles. On the 3rd of July, 1941,nine Italian generals and 150,000 soldiers surrendered to the Belgian colonial troops.
You will notice the British African star among them, as at the end of 1940 the XIth Battalion of the Force Publique was placed at the disposal of the British forces in the Anglo-Egyptian Sudan.

    Beautiful and rare group. Congrats.

As there cannot have been many European officers with the Belgian colonial troops, might it be posssible to identify the original owner of the medals?

That would really put the icing on the cake. Or perhaps you know already....

    Best regards,

    Pat Gore
