Default Boer War Era Pocket Watch

    Hello everyone,
Here is one of my most recent acquisitions, an 1898 dated broad arrow marked pocket watch. It was sold to me as a broken one, but after a few adjustments it's still ticking after almost 125 years. It has kept great time for the last few days.
Just thought I'd post it here.
    Any thoughts are welcome.

^ I didn't edit this photo, it's just how it came out in this odd lighting.

Thanks for the info Jerry, Thought it was a 1 instead of an I at first. Very interesting watch indeed.

Also does anyone happen to know who they where issued to at this time? (1890s-1900s) If it was only officers/ officials, or everyone?
    Thanks.

    Regards,
    Daniel
