Looks nice, but has someone done something to the badge? Seems odd it has so much wear, when the surrounding helmet hasn't?

Maybe a vendor rubbed the badge to bring out the detail ? Or take off surface rust ? The badge and crest normally lose paint as the areas that protrude most (as well as rim !)

Hi Kris, lovely old helmet and worth getting in good condition to, i have only one Adrian helmet it,s a Belgium issue
1915, in original Khaki paint. the only thing wrong is when i left home many yrs ago now one of my brothers took the lion badge from it and it was never found again. but it has the original liner and strap.

Regrettable story Rob! Lion's heads are hard to find, I think they are faked now.
The rubbed badge might have happen when stacking helmets on top of each other....
