    Hi everyone,

Unboxed this beautiful framed veteran named medal set. The medals are French but the helmet of the veteran is Belgian. He was awarded the medals for action on the Belgian front.

Was it practice that French officers were attached to the Belgian army? Also I tried to track this guy down but could not find anything in the archives since I don't have his date of birth. Maybe someone can help me with this.

    Hi Paul,
I've checked on the French website (Grand Memorial Culture. FR) and there are just a few listed with the surname of 'Campo', but none appear to be your man I'm afraid.

    Cheers,
    Steve

    Thx Andrzej,

I realy did not recognize the famous Belgian King. I did wonder why the print was there for one guy. Expensive for those days. There is a small photo of soldat Campo at the bottom of the frame after the war a a civilian.

And Bichon, where did you find the info of Campo's date of birth? Thx for that anyway.

    Gentlemen many thanks

    Cheers Paul
