Thanks carpediem, sometime I will show more, there are 2 helmets, overseas hat, and other stuff that is put away right now. I really need to spend time and put together a display of all the stuff that came home with him. I am guessing a lot of his military stuff was given to him as he was not wealthy at all being a farmer. Mother has payment receipts from a local business to purchase dynamite to expand his farm by blasting tree stumps after the war. Must have been a tough guy who has seen and done it all.

Thanks carpediem, love the dynamite stories. The more stories I hear from the older generation and how they grew up the more I wish I would have paid more attention to them when I was younger.
