Hi Mick,
The uniform is WWI U.S.. I think I may have the medal he is wearing?? which I believe is a service medal awarded by the City of San Francisco for WWI service. Let me look at the one I have before writing that in stone, I have the medal but can't remember what it was for. I can't help you with the sword and sash as they don't look US to me.
Thanks
Burt
The sword and sash did throw me, but this information is very help.
Thanks Burt!

Nick,
Go to this link;
My collection re-organized
Look at the third picture down, top left, 5th medal from the left with the blue ribbon. I think this is the one he is wearing. It is a American Legion medal WWI. I can't remember much about it as i would have to dig it out to see what it says.
Burt
The uniform is a model 1918.
It has a 6 months service stripe but it is impossible to tell if it overseas or home service. Without a shoulder patch I suspect it is stateside service. The sword is a lodge sword but I cant identify it.
Hope this helps.
Very helpful, thanks Steve.
So a 'lodge sword' means the Masonic Lodge I take it?
