M15 Adrian Tank Helmet original?
Good morning, i would like to know your opinion of this helmet. I have a feeling the crest was refurbished as it has rivets on the inside and its green color is weird. When cutting the visor, it is missing a buckle for the chinstrap. I have my doubts about the liner. Greetings and thank you.
It's a fantasy item. The M19 Adrian (Jeanne D'Arc) helmet wasn't cut from a M15. And the early modified M15s had the brim cut much closer to the front.
Badge is wrong too.
Hello, here is a nice reference photo where we see both early French tank helmets.
(Wiesbaden April 16th 1919).
Mixed early cut out visor Adrian helmets (1918) & first pattern of Assault Artillery helmets(1919).
Often the original badges were kept on the early cut out Adrian helmets.
French general Estienne (father of the French tanks) suggested the usage of the cross guns
& knight's helmet as the symbol for the new Assault Artillery "rushing the enemy on the double"
