Default Medals and documents from a French Sous Lieutenant killed 1918...

A friend recently gifted me with a set of medals and Paperwork from a French soldier killed in 1918. My friend’s family had a house in the Carolinas that they had rented for years to a French woman and her husband. The medals belonged to her father Henri James Parpet. When the old couple finally passed away , with no heirs, the grouping passed to my friend’s family and years later to me. There’s a Legion d’honneur , three Croix de Guerre with various devices attached as well as a Czarist St. George cross. The paper documents consists of two memorial pieces and another that ,I believe, details a brave action on the part of Sgt. Parpet. If someone could fill me in on the units the soldier served with I’d greatly appreciate it. Here are some pics.

    Thanks,
    Len

A nice grouping with associated paperwork. The citation looks interesting, but you need to post much higher resolution images so that they can be enlarged and made more easy to read. A website you might find useful is.... 'Parcours Des Regiments 1914 -1918.'

    Cheers,

That's an impressive grouping! I would also like to see a higher resolution photo of the citation I've been able to make out a few things but not a whole lot.

    Hi Len,

I've translated the citation, I'm sorry for any mistakes since I'm not very good at translating French to English, if anyone sees a mistake, please correct me.

    Citation:
Excellent non-commissioned officer who in all circumstances since the start of the campaign, demonstrated the utmost courage. while leading a reconnaissance group on the night of 11 to 12 may 1916, he rushed on an enemy patrol where he took an enemy officer captive.

    signed: Prax?
