Also when I tried to remove the back of the frame I found a painting that was being used to support the poster...

Justin, if you can take a photo of this piece out of the frame, that would help determine some things. Also, if there are any markings on the edges, the borders of the paper. Markings that might show some printing data and year of printing, that too would help determine things. Also, a good way to determine a copy print is to smell the paper. Old smell, could mean old paper. Clean smell in an old frame, could very well be a copy. More photos would help!
