Royal Naval Division "Anson Battl" insignia
Hi Guys, I am not a WW1 collector as such, but I do have a few WW1 items in my collection.
I was luckly enough to be given this cap badge and shoulder titles by a late friend who had obtained them as a boy in WW2 when he collected cap badges.
The Royal Navy raised troops from surplus men who were not employed by the Fleet but were desparately needed to help bolster the Western Front.
Some history about the Division can be found here:
The 63rd (Royal Naval) Division of the British Army in 1914-1918
Cheers, Ade.

Great to see these, my great uncle Pat Hanton from Wexford in Ireland was in this batt and we recently found his grave in a military cemetary in Malta where he died from wounds recieved in Galipolli.......will be able to search for this cap badge as I now know what it looks like.
Thanks for posting.

Adrian,
I've got a nice pair of Royal Navy Reserve medals from WW1 that would go well with your "Anson Battl" insignia
Regards to all, Simon.
