Strange eye protection

Article about: Anyone seen such a eye protection used by soldiers, ever? I just added the helmet in order to get a full image of how it would look with a helmet, but both didn't come together! It was found

    Anyone seen such a eye protection used by soldiers, ever?
    I just added the helmet in order to get a full image of how it would look with a helmet, but both didn't come together!
    It was found on a attic among all other stuff, some were military items....
    The little cord to fit to the head, isn't original to it and broke several times when trying to fit it on the head.

    I think I've seen these before Kris, or something similar. God knows where though, I will dig through some old reference books it might be there.

    It's just the lighting but your Adrian lid looks like it is made of felt like an ersatz haube

    It is no felt , just a rusty M15.
    I don't know what it is but that camera of mine is so full of all kind of technologie, but I can't find to set the brightness right!........
