I would like to show something from my collection of swagger sticks, classroom pointers and short-timer sticks.
This one is one of my favorites. It dates from 1918 and is 22" long. It is made from wood and brass shell casings inlaid with three French silver coins which have been bent to fit the curve of the stick. The coins are dated 1917. The top has another French coin which is slightly convex. There is also a hand engraved designation "H. B. McKay, France 1918. The end of the tapered and lacquered stick has a 30 cal. bullet.
