Unknown WW1 Finds

Hi, I found these objects last week on the somme battlefields, but am not too sure what they are?

Firstly there is what appears to be the metal surround for a pair of goggles or some-sort of eye wear?

The second item is what appears to be an electrical connector. It is painted red, has raised lumps for ease of turning and is made from aluminium. Any ideas?
(The cartridge case pictured is a german 7.92mm)
