    I didn't find the correct category so I posted here, sorry.
    Could you identify this belt? It looks like a piece from between civil war and WWI. Maybe I will get the hanger too, the seller will find it.

    Default My guess is it's a Louisiana Pelican.

    Greetings,

    The bird on the belt's plate looks like the Pelican Device of the US State of Louisiana (i.e. not an Eagle). I believe, the set dates to post US Civil War and would be associated with an officer in the Louisiana State Militia/Guard. Wish I could be more precise yet, you too may Google "Louisiana Belt Plates" and view that bird's similarities to yours.
