USA great war helmet with shrapnel splinter damage and flash

USA manufactured helmet, maker marked zf45, with red Maltese cross flash painted on one side and with a shrapnel splinter strike to the rear

I like it looks original to me. Pretty tough to make that one up, even in my own mind.

I think if it was faked, they would have done more to it, and it was very cheap.

I did not have a US made example in my collection, only UK made so a good addition for me.
