WW I common Belgian medal, but....
I have spend nearly a whole week in hospital and probably will have to be there again to spend more time, because of a broken spine bone...
But today I got released and I went on my weekly treasure hunt.
And I did found a nice groupe, but what stroke me the most was thise;
It is one of the most common Belgian WW I medals you can find, and it was in a more common and vulgar plastic box, but ther was a small note folded in to the box, telling;
Thise medal belonged to my father Frans Schepers, former soldier 1914-1918
Belgian medals do not come with a name like British!!
It moved me and still does when writting thise message...
I had a similar medal belonging to one of my grandfathers, but I sold it , when I sold all of my first militaria collection.
I feel rather bad now, when I came a cross thise particular ridiculous boxed medal...
