This looks fantastic. Really thoughtfully presented too!

Items where we know some of the history, makes the item so much more interesting and add another dimension.

    Thanks Andy,
I have more stories of his service, not many but it is nice with any object to have a name so the history of said item can continue.

The Regiment found in two major offensives; the St. Mihiel Offensive in which he was one of two Chaplains on the front line. The other offensive was Meuse- Argonne which I can’t find any records of his actions during that time.

Thanks for sharing this beautiful set with us Marty, undoubtably a man who was witness to some of the worst and best of humanity during his time in service.

A Chaplain is there when you enlist/drafted,
He is there when you ship out, He is there with you in battle, He is there with you when you are wounded, He is there to buried our hero’s, He is there to comfort your family.

    Greetings Marty,

Had some free time so, I endeavored to look your Chaplain up on Newspapers.com & Ancestry.com. Likely, you have viewed these, but if not ...enjoy.

    Best Regards,

No, I had not seen any of this information before. I am so EXCITED to see and read it. Wow….what insight to Chaplain Lewis and to read that he lived out of country, that explains how he knew the German language. Thank you, thank you!!!
