    John, I’ve seen them but they rarely make it out of collections due to the low number of them compared to other tunics. A dear friend decided to part with it and I think he had it for 15 years. I glad to be the next caretaker.
    I’ve never seen the crosses sewn on the shoulders before.

    If he is Lieutenant, why Corporal stripes on the sleeve? Nice tunic anyway.

    I dont know about US, but in ww2 Finnish army there were Lutherian Military chaplains and Theological students + Orthodox equivalent of same ranks.

    The stripes on the sleeve represent overseas service, 1 stripe for 6 months, so 2 stripes means he was overseas for 1 year.

    Great seeing this one again Marty. Just so many cool aspects to it. Like the sewn cross and the bullion cap cross all topped by the extra ordinary condition it is in. Really amazing after 100 years.

    This looks fantastic. Really thoughtfully presented too!

    Items where we know some of the history, makes the item so much more interesting and add another dimension.
