Ww1 royal navy cpo visor
Dear Gents
I would like to date this black wool CPO visor,I suppose Royal Navy but I don't know if the 2 gilt brass buttons are ok or at least one of them is wrong one has a crown over an anchor as the visor device,the other has only an anchor,thanks for your help.

The buttons and strap are later incorrect additions, the strap and buttons are totally wrong anyway - throw it away. RN caps are hard to pin down date wise but the smaller volume of the top of the cap suggests a WW I- pre WWII style, but is not really conclusive.

The interior stich pattern leans more towards WW II era.

I agree with the above. Its a nice Royal Navy Petty Officers cap with incorrect buttons and chinstrap and I would put it around the WW1 period.
