    I'm new to the forum, and really enjoying it.

    I'm wondering how many of these citations have shown up here. I know that local collectors of military memorabilia haven't seen very many, if any at all.
    Anyways, from what I understand, these citations were given out to combat wounded before the purple heart was established. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

    The certificate was issued to sick and wounded soldiers during WW1. Later on it was used as an inspiration for the logo of the Disabled American Veterans Association.
