Hi
My opinion is that is a good one. Also because they were made too much to be worth to falsify. If will be Hungarian 1st model, Bosnien, ot that one with removable eagle....would be more chanses...

The seller say it is orginal on , bud I see much copy of this buckle on ebay :
Austrian Army WWI WW1 Repro Equipment Belt Buckle | eBay
imo original.
This is nonsens...42 dollars for an copy ...25-30 euro for original!!
I,d sell my dig up for 25 e...
God please forgive them, they didnt know whar they do.....
I agree with harryamb2.imo original. harryamb2
Two things that stand out in my experience that this is an original example: 1.) I like the placement of the roller pin. Most fakes I have encountered have the roller pin placed quite close to the edge of the buckle. 2.) Many of the fakes I have seen (but not all of the fakes) are marked with a hallmark on either the top or bottom edge of the buckle, on the stepped end or catch end of the buckle.
There has been a flood of repro's of this buckle that have come out of the old Eastern European block countries in the past 15-20 years. Why they produced them, Heaven only knows. Someone once told me that they sell copies of this buckle at the Austrian ?Army Museum in Vienna. I once sent them an email to their gift shop, but never heard anything back.
I'll have to see if I can dig up some photos of a known fake, and post it for the benefit of others.
Best Regards,
Alan
